Rowan Learning Trust has been providing school-to-school support since 2012 with the understanding that teachers should help each other to develop professionally, which in turn leads to student improvement.
To help teachers progress the Rowan Learning Trust provides Secondary School Diagnostic Training.
Chief executive of the Rowan Learning Trust, Roy Halford, has been a headteacher since 2002 and, as a National Leader of Education (NLE), was commissioned by the National College to establish this diagnostic training as a starting point for effective and sustainable school-to-school support.
Roy has a track record of high impact school improvement activity in his own schools and in those he has supported.
On this one-day course delegates will learn what is needed to produce high impact, sustainable secondary school improvement through a well-tested, effective method of training.
The training will cover:
- Pre-visit processes and information
- Diagnostic day planning and structure
- Writing and sharing the report
- Constructing the action plan and consideration of resultant support
The training is aimed at National Leaders of Education (NLEs) and Local Leaders of Education (LLEs) alongside two other School Leadership Team (SLT) colleagues or Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) per school.
Cost: £500 + VAT per school group
The training can be funded using the National Leaders of Education (NLE) bursary.
Philip Rimmer is the Director of Education for the Rowan Learning Trust and a Specialist Leader of Education.
In his previous role as senior deputy headteacher at Hawkley Hall High School, which was designated a National Support School (NSS) in 2009, Phil gained extensive experience in coordinating high impact school-to-school support.
He has led the support of more than 25 schools, and has seen results as great as a 23% increase in the 5 A*-C GCSE grades, including English and Maths.
