Accredited by the Wigan Safeguarding Board this comprehensive training course will cover all the introductory, mandatory requirements as published in the updated guide “Working Together to Safeguard Children” – March 2013.

With a particular focus for schools the training will inform staff of their shared responsibility in safeguarding and make clear the procedures to follow to keep children safe.

Who is the Training for?

This training is for all staff working in primary and secondary schools. It is particularly relevant to those new to the school or those in need of refreshing their knowledge. Don’t forget to access the training for NEW STAFF who have only just joined you this term.

  • What is child abuse?
  • Signs and indicators
  • Normal child development
  • Maintaining a child focus
  • What to do in response to concerns?
  • Documentation and information sharing
  • Own safeguarding roles and responsibilities
  • Working with others
  • Impact of domestic violence, drug abuse
  • Dealing with lack of co-operation

The training will take place over 1 session (2.5 hours) or 2 sessions (1.5 hours each).

Whole school twilight training also available at your own site on request.
